McKay received training from Australian wrestler Madison Eagles and made her debut on 23 June 2007. Her debut day at PWA Australia was her eighteenth birthday where she registered a win against Eagles and Aurora. She marked a win against defending champion Kellie Skater on 2 August 2008, making her become the PWWA Champion. She defended her title against Tenille Tayla on November 8. The following month, she was defeated by Penni Lane making her lose the title. She won teh title back by winning the four-way match against Skater, Shazza McKenzie and Sway in September 2009. She defended the title against wrestlers like Eagles and KC Cassidy. However, McKay lost it on 11 June 2010 to Eagles.

In October 2008, she started wrestling for American all-female promotion called Shimmer Women Athletes where she made her debut with Eagles as ‘Pink Ladies’ at Volume 21. They participated in a tag team gauntlet match but turned the first team to be eliminated. On her debut singles match for the promotion, she lost to Kellie Skater.

She marked a win against Mia Yim in March 2012 advancing her to a match against Cheerleader Melissa for the championship which she lost. She won against Mercedes Martinez at Volume 57. McKay also wrestled for American promotions like Ring of Honor (ROH), Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) and Chikara. WWE Career

While WWE was having a tour of Australia, McKay went for a tryout in August 2014. In April 2015, she came out as an NXT trainee.  After two months, she made her in-ring debut in a losing effort against Becky Lynch. Initially, her ring name was Jessie. She made her debut with a new ring name ‘Billie Kay’ on 7 August. She lost to Asuka on the 21 October episode of NXT. She was also seen being managed by Sylvester Lefort until February 2016.

She participated in a battle royal for being the number one contender for Bayley’s Championship on the 13 January 2016 episode of NXT. The match was won by Carmella. On the 30 June episode of SmackDown, she made her main roster debut losing to Dana Brooke. She marked her first win in the company by defeating Santana Garrett upon her return to NXT television on 27 July. She was defeated by Ember Moon on 20 August and Aliyah on 21 September episode of NXT.

She started forming a tag team with Peyton Royce in October and the duo named themselves The Iconic Duo. They began a feud with Liv Morgan whom they attacked and defeated in singles matches. The duo participated in a six-woman tag team match joining Daria Berenato in a losing effort against Aliyah, Mogan and Ember Moon. The Iconic Duo lost to Asuka and Nikki Cross in a fatal four-way match on 28 January 2017.

 

Their first Royal Rumble match was recorded in 2019 where they eliminated Nikki Cross where they got eliminated by Lacey Evans. They went to compete in the first female tag team Elimination Chamber match where they eliminated Carmella and Naomi, however, the duo got eliminated by the team of Tamina and Nia Jax.

They registered a win against The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection on the 19 March episode of SmackDown. They won the Women’s Tag Team Championship by winning the fatal four-way tag team match at WrestleMania 35. This victory made a new record set in WWE history as the duo were named the first all-Australian tag team champions. There is another Autsralian wrestler Buddy Murphy who also turned as an Australian tag team champion alongside Wesley Blake who is an American by nationality. The IIconics retained their title against Karissa Rivera and Kris Statlander. They also defended their championship against Nikki Coss and Alexa Bliss on the 17 June episode of Raw.

They also defeated the team of Asuka and Kairi Sane. Finally, they lost their title in a fatal four-way elimination match to Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss on the 5 August episode of Raw. The IIconics were the first to get eliminated where they were knocked out by Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose ending their six-month reign.

They were drafted to Raw on October 16, 2018, where they lost multiple times for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. They also began a feud with Ruby Riott who teamed with Liv Morgan to defeat them at Payback. As per the stipulation, The IIconics got disbanded as a result of their loss.
