Sin as a young boy was very much interested in all forms of sports and used to participate enthusiastically in all sports events but had a special corner for wrestling. Sin used to take part in freehand wrestling competitions at school levels and state levels. After completing his high schooling at a local school situated in El Paso, he pursued higher studies related to embalming and funeral director services in Mexico.

After completing the degree Sin started working in his grandfather’s funeral home in Juarez, Mexico. Along with that, he also practiced wrestling in Burges High School. In 2004, Sin became associated with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and wrestled for nearly a year. In 2006, he became a part of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and played the 2006 world XD-Cup Tournament. At the world cup tournament, he was one of the four members of Team Mexico. He joined the National Wrestling Alliance in 2007 and played it and Chikara till 2009. In 2009, Sin became an integral part of the WWE, after completing the developmental phases; he won several championships over there and continued playing till 2019.
