WWE career

He appeared into the limelight after signing with WWE in June 2013 after which he was assigned to NXT in July 2013. On the January 22, 2014 episode of NXT, he made his television debut as ‘Wesley Blake’. He appeared in a cowboy character in his debut match where he lost to Adrian Neville. He also faced Sin Cara, Adam Rose and Mason Ryan. He teamed with Cal Bishop to face the Ascension (Vik and Big Kon) but lost the match.

He quit his cowboy character after which he formed a tag team with Buddy Murphy in August 2014. They were defeated by Kalisto and Sin Cara in the number one contender’s tag team tournament in the first round. They lost to the Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) and The Lucha Dragons (Kalisto and Sin Cara) many times.

They got eliminated by The Ascension while determining the number one contenders to the NXT Tag Team Championship in October 2014. On the January 21, 2015 episode of NXT, they turned victorious against The Vaudevillains. They earned their first WWE title as NXT Tag Team Championship by defeating The Lucha Dragons.

They defeated Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch in the first round of the 019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They defeated Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven and Tyler Bate) in the second round. On June 1, 2019, they lost the fatal four-way ladder match for the vacant NXT Tag Team Championship which was won by Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford).

On April 10, 2020, episode of SmackDown, The Forgotten Sons joined by Jaxson Ryker made their debut where they turned victorious against the Lucha House Party. The trio attacked both SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day and Lucha House Party on the April 24 episode of SmackDown.

On the May 1 episode, they made their main roster in-ring debut where they turned victorious against The New Day in a non-title match. They started portraying as American patriots where Ryker and Cutler highlighted their services in the marines. When Jaxson Ryker tweeted in support of President Donald Trump, the gimmick was dropped following the serious backstage heat and backlash from many on social media.
